A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep. We use them for two things: making the site work the way you left it, and — only with your permission — understanding how people find and use the site so we can spend our marketing budget sensibly.
We do not use cookies to build a profile of you across unrelated websites, and we do not sell what they record.

The first three are stored in your browser's local storage rather than as classic cookies, but they work the same way and we list them here for the same reason.
These load only after you accept, and nothing in this group runs before then. If you decline, the scripts are never fetched at all — they are not merely told to stay quiet.

The banner appears for visitors in the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, where the law requires opt-in before analytics or advertising cookies may be set. Elsewhere these cookies load without a banner, which is what local law permits — but the controls below work everywhere, and if you turn them off we will honour that regardless of where you are.
